Thanks for the list of books. I have read "Good to Great" but not the other two. "How to Win Friends & Influence People" sounds really interesting and one I need to go out and get today. Hopefully I can learn a lot from these books and grow my business even more!

Great advice! I was always the Statutory Agent for my own small business. I trust my employees but you never know what could happen. If one of them gets in trouble, they could become my "Alice." Looks like I'm going to get a new Statutory Agent.

On many different levels, this is great advice. Very nice post. The general principle that being an employee friendly employer is profitable is too often lost. This is a fine example of how treating employees right is right for the employer in many ways.

Once you begin thinking about creating a real business (rather than a job), most business decisions fall into place. You must make decision with an eye to the long term rather than immediate concerns. It sometimes requires immediate sacrifices, but pays dividends over the long haul.
